Club Omnium
The Omnium is an annual event , exclusive to SCC members that runs throughout the year (starts and finishes 3rd Sunday in October).
The Omnium has three aims:
to encourage club members to participate in a range of cycling disciplines
to give club members a challenge to work towards
to add an element of fun to your cycling.
Omnium Activities
The Omnium comprises of eight activity groups, A-H, that are described, along with their qualifying criteria below. For activity groups A-G there are four levels of achievement: Green, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each participant's achievement targets are tailored to their age and gender. An activity group is completed if the qualifying event's target time, speed, or distance is achieved.
Supporting Role
To support the organising of events for the benefit of the club and the wider community in addition to fulfilling the requirements of activity group's A-G, an Omnium award is only presented to participants who have also undertaken an approved supporting role and thereby fulfilled the requirements of activity group H.
Criteria for Target Standards
Target standards are calculated using a participant's gender and their age on the 1st January following the Omnium's October start date.
How do I partake in the Omnium?
To successfully complete the Omnium, participants must attain a qualifying standard in three different events from three different activity groups and undertake a qualifying supporting role.
How do I know my qualifying standards?
The omnium spreadsheet allows you to enter your details to identify your qualifying standards. Access to this can be found on our facebook members page in the files section or alternatively email info@selbycycling.co.uk to ask for a copy.
How do I show my results?
Results to prove successful completion of an activity group must be verifiable. For example, published results, official timing sheets, or GPS traces, as applicable.
How do I submit my entry?
It is each participant's responsibility to submit their results by e-mail to omnium@selbycycling.co.uk before the cut-off date. The submission must include the entrants name, date of birth, and details of each qualifying event (e.g. date, location, distance, etc., a link to the results web page, a GPS trace, or other proof of attainment), and proof that a supporting role has been undertaken.
Omnium Awards
